When HelloFresh began we saw a huge opportunity in the challenge of food waste. By creating a system where our customers order their meals in advance, we are able to only order exactly what we need from our suppliers and in turn, we only send our customers what they need to cook their meals.
The result has been a dramatic reduction in food waste in the supply chain and a reduction of food waste for our customers (which continues to be one of the most cited benefits of using our service).
We continue to deliver surplus produce to the Felix Project for redistribution to community kitchens and set up a community fridge near our warehouse in Banbury to provide free food to the locals who need it.
Our team have continued its partnership with The Felix Project by sending out teams to local restaurants and retailers to collect food that would otherwise go to waste and divert it to food banks and local community projects.
